If you are using the Mede8er MED500X Multimedia Player connected to a network, and have recently installed Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5 to provide feedback for Internet Explorer 9 BETA, or have upgraded from Windows Live Essentials 2009 to 2011, your Mede8er may no longer be able to login to the network, and will give you Login Failed error messages.
This can be a problem for many who prefer to have their Mede8er access network shared media instead of having it on a local hard disk.
If you are using either Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5 or Windows Live Essentials 2011 (or both), you can restore your Mede8er network access by opening Control Panel and uninstalling them.
Some of you may like to continue using Windows Live Essentials, but the problem is that Microsoft no longer provides a download for the older 2009 version, and the web installer will always download the newer Windows Live Essentials 2011.
If you want to continue using both your Mede8er and Windows Live Essentials, then you can download the offline installer for the 2009 edition by clicking the icon below.
Windows Live Essentials 2009 Offline Installer
I don't really like web-based installers that download a stub, and then only download the actual install files when you begin the installation, so I downloaded the offline installer from the Windows Live Essentials website some time ago when it was still available. In order to differentiate between the 2009 and 2011 versions, I renamed the file to "wlsetup_all_2009.exe".
